Grammar Focus Present Simple vs. Present Continuous + Stative Verbs

Present Simple (المضارع البسيط):

  • الاستخدام: للحقائق، العادات اليومية، الروتين الثابت.
  • التكوين: الفعل في المصدر + (s/es) مع he/she/it.
  • الكلمات الدالة: always, usually, often, sometimes, never, every day/week.
  • مثال: I wake up at 6 AM every day. / Water boils at 100 degrees.
Present Continuous (المضارع المستمر):

  • الاستخدام: لأحداث تحدث الآن، أو خطط مستقبلية قريبة.
  • التكوين: am / is / are + الفعل + ing.
  • الكلمات الدالة: now, right now, at the moment, today, this week, tomorrow.
  • مثال: I am studying English now. / She is traveling to Riyadh tomorrow.
Stative Verbs (أفعال الحالة):

  • تعريفها: أفعال تصف حالة أو شعوراً أو فكراً، وليس حركة. لا تأتي في صيغة المستمر (ing).
  • أمثلة: like, love, hate, want, need, prefer, believe, know, understand, remember, belong, own, seem, look (appear).
  • خطأ شائع: I am knowing the answer. (I know the answer – صحيح).
  • مثال: I want to go home. / She believes in God. / This book belongs to me.

Grammar Focus Past Simple vs. Past Continuous (when / while)

Past Simple (الماضي البسيط):

  • الاستخدام: لأحداث بدأت وانتهت في الماضي.
  • التكوين: الفعل في التصريف الثاني (regular: +ed / irregular: التصريف الثاني).
  • الكلمات الدالة: yesterday, last week, last year, in 2010, two days ago.
  • مثال: I visited my grandmother yesterday. / She went to London last year.
Past Continuous (الماضي المستمر):

  • الاستخدام: لأحداث كانت مستمرة في وقت محدد في الماضي.
  • التكوين: was / were + الفعل + ing.

Grammar Focus Comparisons (Comparative and Superlative)

Comparative (صفة المقارنة):

  • الاستخدام: للمقارنة بين شخصين أو شيئين.
  • التكوين:
    • الصفات القصيرة (مقطع واحد أو مقطعين تنتهي بـ y): صفة + er + than (taller than, easier than).
    • الصفات الطويلة (مقطعين أو أكثر): more + صفة + than (more beautiful than, more expensive than).
    • الصفات الشاذة: good → better than, bad → worse than, far → farther than.
  • مثال: Ahmed is taller than Ali. / This book is more interesting than that one.
Superlative (صفة التفضيل):

Grammar Focus Relative Pronouns (who, which, that)

Relative Pronouns (ضمائر الوصل):

  • Who: تستخدم للأشخاص.
  • Which: تستخدم للأشياء أو الحيوانات.
  • That: تستخدم للأشخاص والأشياء والحيوانات (غير رسمية).
  • Where: تستخدم للمكان.
  • When: تستخدم للزمان.
